Author: Phill Featherstone

Phill was born in West Yorkshire, England, a few miles from the village of Haworth, where his heroines, the Brontė sisters, lived and wrote. He now lives in Sheffield.

Phill's first novel, 'Paradise Girl', is set in these same northern hills where, amidst the majestic beauty of the rolling moors, a lone young woman faces a bleak future. It tells the story of a 17-year-old girl who is left alone when a savage plague wipes out friends, family and everyone around her. His second novel, 'Aftershocks', is the story of her twin brother. The two books are linked but can be read in any order.

'Paradise Girl' was published in 2017 and received a Chill With a Book Readers' Award. In February 2018 it was named Chill Book of the Month. In 2018 'Paradise Girl' received an Indie BRAG (Books & Readers' Appreciation Group) Medallion. It was a finalist in the 2018 Wishing Shelf Awards. One of the best accolades came from a 16-year-old reader who said it was 'like The Hunger Games but for smarter kids'.

'Aftershocks' was published in March 2019. A further book linking these two is in preparation, for publication in 2020.

Phill's lastest work is called 'The God Jar' and is an adventure/mystery set partly in present day England and partly in 16th century Europe. It was published In September 2019.

Wearing his other (teacher) hat, Phill has also co-written several books of activities for young children.

When he's not writing or reading, Phill likes movies, the theatre, galleries and exhibitions, and concerts. He enjoys walking, DIY and playing the saxophone.
