Author: Ann Roberts

Ann Victoria Roberts is known for her five historical novels, set mainly in the late 19thC and early 20th centuries. Her sixth and latest, One Night, Two Lives, is set in modern times, but looks back to the 1960s - a period now classified as 'history'.

For Suzie Wallis, the past returns with a vengeance when an old flame turns up in her life. She loved him once, but can she forgive him for what he did that night? Exploring the themes of betrayal, guilt and redemption, One Night Two Lives, is published by Matador and available in both print and ebook.
All Ann's novels feature vivid characters and settings, the linking themes being love in its many forms, and the effects of the past upon the present.
Published originally by Chatto & Windus, and Avon in the US, Ann's first novel, Louisa Elliott was an international bestseller - as was its follow-up, Liam's Story, published by Avon as Morning's Gate. The two Elliott novels take the reader from York to Australia, the Middle East, and the war-torn fields of Flanders. They are now available in both print and ebook format.

Dagger Lane, a creepy ghost story set in countryside just north of York, came next, followed by Moon Rising, featuring the author Bram Stoker. Seafaring, storms, and Whitby's folk tales and legends colour this gripping tale of passion and possession - revealing the genesis of Stoker's Dracula.
The Master's Tale, tells the story of Captain Smith of the Titanic - a man under pressure from employers and passengers alike. During the five days of that last, fateful voyage, the Captain reflects on his life at sea - and the loves of his life.

Born in York and married to a sea-captain, Ann travelled widely aboard merchant ships when their children were young, and life at sea features in three of her novels. The Master's Tale received one of the Rubery Awards for independently-published books in 2012.
Ann is a member of both the Society of Authors, and The Alliance of Independent Authors, and now lives in Southampton UK.
