Young Ben is fascinated by medieval legends, in particular the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. As he grows up, he sees his life in terms of a quest but finds himself constantly struggling against his inner demons. Like Sir Gawain of old, he is only too aware of his shortcomings. A sense of failure takes him ultimately to Nepal and Bangladesh, where he finds freedom and fulfilment in a totally unexpected way.
